Competition in the learning and development field is on the increase. Many industry sectors now require benchmarked standards of their training providers.
TAP accreditation (Trainer Accredited Programme) is the system that is gaining prominence and most recognition in the UK.
TAP has been created by the Training Foundation and is fast developing in terms of setting standards in the training field.  TAP recently won the queens award for industry for 'Introducing a revolutionary concept for training – assessment against best-practice standards!'. Some organisations have subsequently signed up to accredit their internal training through TAP.
Some of the TAP Alliance Partners include the Institute of IT Training (IITT), British Institute for Learning and Development and Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM).

Ronan Flood successfully achieved TAP accreditation in March of 2008.
